N.C. software company offers its Online Learning Community Platform to six schools recognized nationally for innovative math, science programs

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Internet Community Action Network (I-CAN), an industry leader in providing its 21st century Online Learning Community Platform for school and business communities, today announced it will provide its innovative technology to six schools recognized during Intel Corporation’s Schools of Distinction Awards (SODA) in Washington, D.C. The winning schools were announced at an awards reception on Sept. 15.

Intel received more than 700 applications this year, and from those, selected six winners (one elementary, middle, and high school in each of two categories). These winning schools will receive $10,000 cash grants, and more than $200,000 in products and services from sponsors.  The schools selected for Math Excellence included Cedar Park Elementary School in Trumann, AR; The Urban Assembly School for Applied Math and Science in Bronx, N.Y.; and Lynn English High School in Lynn, Mass. In Science Excellence, winners included Oakcliff Elementary School in Doraville, Ga.; Palm Desert Middle School Palm Desert, Calif., and the Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy in Aurora, Ill.
